The Athabasca Tribal Council (ATC) Cultural Festival is a three day celebration of Indigenous art, music and culture!
Don't miss out on these great events and activities:
- Traditional Art Workshops: learn a new traditional art -- be it works in beads, birch, wood carvings, animal hides, feathers, fish scales and more! Click here for more information and to register online.
- Hand Games Tournament: Always sure to draw a crowd, the Dene Hand Game is a type of guessing game between teams -- players on one team hide an item in their hands while the other team has to guess which hand the item is in. Correct guesses award points, but points can be stolen. Teams use clever tactics to mislead and confuse their opponents, and this chaotic back and forth of cunning and confusion make for a great spectacle!
- Gift Shop & Gallery: Stop by the gift shop to see what local Indigenous artists have on offer. The artists contribute their own products and artwork directly, and all sales go right back to them, so why not shop local and bring home something special?
- Evening Main Stage Performances: Don't miss out on the festival's main stage performances Friday and Saturday evening -- there are dance showcases, throat singing, powwow and round dances to be had, as well as a Saturday night concert featuring music by C-Weed, Nicely Put Together and Slander Brain.
And there's plenty more in store for the festival!
